| La Passe Guesthouse, La Digue: No mass tourism, but genuine hospitality is practized here. The guesthouse is situated near the little harbour (about 1 1/2 mins. by bike) and set back from the sea, nestled amongst the gardens of La Passe. At this idyllic place you are never far from the quiet bustle of the village, while it's a relaxing place to have a beer in the garden or on the terrace. By bike, the whole island and its superb beaches is within easy reach from here. Anse Sévère for example is about 1 km away (see map). 3 double rooms each have their own bathroom attached and are simple, but clean and cosy. No air conditioning, but there are fans in every room. Some rooms have their own fridge. A new a/c room is now available, too. It has its small private veranda. What makes the stay at La Passe GH so special is Mary-Anne: she is a markedly friendly, hospitable and happy person. Her smiles are contagious and the food she's serving every evening has her guests raving for a long time after. Yummy! Bring a good appetite for fish, like everywhere on the Seychelles. ;-) On request, however, special food (e.g. vegetarian) is prepared. Mary-Anne speaks good English, French, Creol. The price per

| Beryl's House, La Digue: This small house is situated in a quiet area, in its own little garden with tropical trees, bushes and flowers. Beryl's House consists of a bedroom, living room (here you'll find an extra bed, more beds possible) and bathroom/WC. There are 2 seperate entrances: one for the living room, one for the bedroom. Fridge, water heater and a small TV are part of the equipment. The house is newly built (2007) and in very good shape. Short videoclip here. | Domaine de l'Orangeraie, La Digue:
The private outside shower conveys a tropical ambiance with a carefree island life-style. Breakfast will be served on your own private terrace. If you book half board, dinner is at La Digue Lodge. Otherwise, you choose one of the small restaurants on the island or make use of your own kitchen. There is a small shop nearby, the large Gregoire's Supermarket is a 5 min bikeride away. You may rent bicycles right at the hotel or down at the harbour. The Domaine opened in 2005. It is very well kept and quite popular. So book early! Note: During 2008
there will be some building activity in the back and /or across the
road. The owners reassure that there will be absolutely no inconvenience
for the guests. During noisy work the hotel will be closed completely

| L'Ocean, La Digue: The Hotel Ocean is located at Anse Patates, in front of a marvelous panorama with view of the islands Félicité, Grand Soeur, Petite Soeur and Marianne. The comfort is assured and the beach is on the other side of a little road. All rooms have a large private balcony and an incomparable view of the sea. They are equipped with air conditioning, ceiling fan, a small fridge, bathroom with shower, electrical sockets and adapters for all your appliances. Valuables can be stored in the safe at the reception. The hotel offers extra beach towels that can be changed for fresh ones every day. There are no radios or TV sets in the rooms, as a way to guarantee quietness for all guests, but those who wish to check their Email can do so by asking at the reception. The hotel is conveniently located up the headland and right by the sea, thus allowing you to enjoy the fresh breeze, thoroughly enjoyable year-round in Seychelles. The hotel is surrounded by luxuriant, yet not stifling tropical vegetation. You can rent a bicycle directly at the hotel (50 rupees for the whole day, 32 for half a day) to make the most of the surroundings and the island in full - the furthest point is less than 5 km away). The food is good here - varied Creole cuisine as set menu or à la carte. Service is attentive and polite. Every two or three days live at dinner music is played by a local musician. The extraordinary view, the sea breeze and the covered dining area will let you savour every moment spent at the restaurant. | Pension Michel, La Digue: The quiet and airy rooms (4 in the main building, 3 in an annexe) are equipped with aircon, fan, mini-fridge, moscito net and a small terrace. The bathrooms have showers, toilets, washbasins and bidets. Some of the rooms are suitable for 3 persons, others for 2 persons. It's less than 100 m from the pension to Anse La Réunion beach. Tropik Villa, Praslin The Tropik is located on the southwestern coastline of Praslin, with direct access to fabulous Grande Anse beach. It is composed of 6 apartments distributed in 3 typical creole villas: 4 directly at the beach of Grande Anse ("Sea view"), while two others are a little set back from the beach ("Garden view"). Each spacious apartment has its own lounge, shower, WC, fully equipped kitchen, TV, safe, air-conditioning and verandah. It's either self-catering or B&B (continental breakfast). | Hirondelle, Anse Volbert (Côte d'Or), Praslin: A small, family-style place with 4 apartments and a big villa, in a small garden on the powdery-white beach of Anse Volbert. The apartments (approx. 43 m²) for 2-3 persons are equipped for self-catering. There is a kitchen (fridge), but you can book B&B as well. Apart from the kitchen there is of course a bedroom, sitting room, a small terrace, and a bathroom (shower/WC). Ceiling fan. Situated between Anse Volbert and Anse Lazio, the exceptionally kind proprietors offer bungalows/chalets for 2 - 4 persons. | Villa Manoir, Praslin: Approx. 5 mins on foot from Anse Boudin (watch the sunrise there!) and 15 mins from Anse Lazio, this is the closest place to stay to world famous Anse Lazio (on that beach hotel construction is prohibited, there are only 2 restaurants). It's very quiet here at Villa Manoir, but during daytime there is some car traffic to/from Anse Lazio. A bus stop is close by. The Manoir is simple, but clean and has air-conditioning as well as a mini-fridge in each room. There are 2 double rooms and a "family room", which has 2 connecting bedrooms and kitchen. | Choice Villa, Mahé Choice Villa comprises of 3 very spacious apartments and 2 smaller double rooms. It is situated only a few walking minutes from famous Beau Vallon beach. Mango trees in front of the house offer a welcome shade and during the harvesting season (October-December) you may collect the sweet fruit. The proprietors are very nice people and if you choose to have dinner here, you'll be treated with authentic creaole cuisine. However, you may also choose "apartment only" or bed&breakfast. Daily maid service, except Sundays/public holidays. The beautiful and modern apartments are equipped with air conditioning in the bedroom. There is an en-suite-bathroom, kitchen, dining room, living room and an open verandah. Telephone and TV are further assets and if you wish, you may rent a DVD-player. The brand new split-level chalets are situated about 100m above the sea and offer all the amenties you might want. Location: in the northwest of Mahé, the self catering establishment is nestled in a palm grove, about 600m from the ocean. This accomodation is suitable for independent travellers who like to discover the island at their own pace with the rental car provided. (In the Seychelles you drive on the left side of the road.) | Anse Soleil Beachcomber, Mahé The Beachcomber is a small and romantic hotel at Anse Soleil beach, a little gem in the southeast of Mahé. Far from stressful, hectic everyday bustle, beach life and easy contemplation reigns here. A sometimes steep and only partially tarmaced road is the only way to get here from the land side. This has its advantages: the beach wich you can easily reach via a steps hewn from stone often lies pristine and untouched by day tourists. So step off your private veranda on to the silky coral beach, where you can laze, swim or snorkel (at both high and low tides) from one of the safest and most beautiful beaches on Mahé. The well established hotel consists of 10 rooms (5 "Standard" and "Superior" respectively), all with private verandah and sea view. They are air conditioned, have en-suite bathrooms (Shower, WC), a minibar with a small fridge and a safe. On top of this, Superior rooms have corner bathtub, extra shower, bidet and hair drier. However, they are even closer to the powdery, white beach which

are 2 sizes of bungalows available: The "Family Chalets" (92 sqm) are two-bedroom chalets and will fit a maximum of 5 persons (an extra bed can be placed in the lounge area to accommodate the fifth person). Two aircon bedrooms, a small lounge, kitchen and en-suite bathroom and a terrace facing the beach. There is also a floor safe for your valuables. Facilities

Relax , Mahé
This small hotel (not to be confused with the Le Relax Beach Resort on Praslin) with 10 rooms has a phantastic view across the beautiful bay of Anse Royale, in the southeast of Mahé. Transfer time to the airport is approx. 15 minutes. To get to the beach, you cross the coastal road and then you are standing on one of Mahés most magnificent beaches. Great snorkelling close nearby, around the tiny islet of Chauve Souris! At the Le Relax you may choose between the seaview ("super deluxe") or the "deluxe" rooms (without seaview). All rooms have aircon, TV, minibar and free internet access. A swimming pool, library, lounge and a restaurant offer their services to the hotel guests. The hotel restaurant offers excellent creole-indian food. There is also a poolbar open until 11 p.m. The

This unpretentious and small, yet romantic 5-room-hotel is situated in a secluded cove on Mahe island. The beach forms part of Anse aux Pins, just north of Anse Royale. Transfer time from the airport is 15-20 minutes. The cozy Fairyland snugs in between the coastal road (good bus connections) and the Indian Ocean. At high tide, the sea comes right under the terrace which is built on stilts. So you can gaze from your bed or balcony right out to the ocean ... There are three double sea view rooms and two triple side sea view rooms. The rooms are spacious with their private balcony (great sunrises!) and offer seating facilities, air-conditioning (against a small surcharge). This family-owned guesthouse is situated about 3 kms north of the capital Victoria, with nice views to St. Anne Island. Well connected to Victoria by bus, the Califa offers simple, but very clean rooms with fan. Good value for money. The guests may relax on the common verandah with sea view. In the evenings, you may want to order dinner at the guesthouse's own restaurant (à la carte). If you prefer, there is also a chinese restaurant within walking distance. The

| L'Habitation, Cerf Not on Mahé strictly speaking, but on one of the surrounding islands, this charming hotel for max. 24 guests was originally designed as a plantation house. It lies only 5 kms away from Victoria, but due to its location on one of Ste. Anne Marine National Park's islands, it seems to be a world away. This excellent location makes L'Habitation more than just an interesting alternative to staying on Mahé (not recommended during SE winds period, though). Opened
in 2001, L'Habitation Cerf has recently been chosen by the The
Sunday Time Travel Magazine of being the 1st of the 6 best
hotels in the Indian Ocean and considered a "paradise for
less than £100 per night" and "as cheap as chic". The relatively small (1,7 x 0,9 km) island of Cerf offers many beautiful bays and cays, full of tropical vegetation. Only 40 people inhabit the island, there is no road and only 2 hotels. The 10 spacious beachfront rooms of L'Habitation Cerf, all with terrace overlooking the sea and the Marine Park, are equipped with air-conditioning, IDD telephone, hair drier, mini-bar, TV, and en-suite bathroom. Attractions include a swimming pool, bar and games room as well as diving and snorkelling facilities for a visit to the colourful and varied marine life in the coral reefs that surround this charming island. | Fairy Chalet, Cerf Fairy Chalet is set approximately 40m from the beach of the small tropical island of Cerf in the midst of Ste Anne Marine National Park, just a short 10-15 minute boat ride from the main island of Mahé. The exceptionally friendly owners will pick you up and help with anything you might require. The chalets consist of two self-catering units, each looking out onto a tropical garden and the nearby beach, overlooking the Indian Ocean and Mahé a short distance away. Each unit is equipped with an individual safe, air conditioner, fans and TV, along with a well-equipped kitchen. There are two hotels with restaurants on the island. One of which (L'Habitation, described above) is a 2-minutes-walk along the beach. So if you don't feel like cooking yourself, have your dinner there! The
ground floor unit consists of one bedroom, bathroom, open plan
lounge, dining room and kitchen. The veranda looks out onto the
garden with view of the beach, sea and Mahé. Each
unit is equipped with an individual safe, ceiling fans, air-conditioners
