Villas de Mer, Praslin, Seychelles:

Situated on the west coast of Praslin, the Villas de Mer Hotel occupies a prime site on the island's longest beach of Grande Anse, facing the islands of Cousin and Cousine. It is a haven of peace and tranquility.

The fully renovated hotel offers a total of 10 mini suites, of which seven are located in three villas and three are in a plantation-style house.

Guests can spend the day criss-crossing the island's footpaths, visiting the Garden of Eden (Vallée de Mai) or exploring the neighbouring islands of Aride, Cousin, Curieuse and La Digue. Or you can admire a beautiful sunset while enjoying a tropical cocktail before dinner.

Freshness, eco-harmony and a tasteful blend of colours are the key ingredients for a comfortable stay. There are 10 spacious mini suites (with two communicating rooms) all with sitting area, private terrace, air conditioning, ventilators, minibar, TV, en-suite bathroom with bath/shower, hair dryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Most bedrooms can accommodate up to two adults and one or two children.

You can enjoy excellent Creole and European dishes at the seaview beach restaurant. Right on the beach, a kiosk offers fresh locally caught fish, snacks and salads.

Sports and excursions (with supplement) can be organised on request at nearby establishments. They include deep sea fishing, scuba diving and excursions to neighbouring islands.

The Villas de Mer is only five minutes by car from the island's 18-hole golf course.

Note: only at low tide, swimming at Grande Anse beach is near impossible. At high tide, the swimming is very good here, weather permitting. At times there may be sea grass on the beach, usually only between May and October. Should it occur, the seaweed is removed from the beachfront daily. There is free transport three times a week to Anse Volbert and Anse Lazio beaches and back.
