Omusee Guesthouse, Anse Volbert, Praslin, Seychelles:Only a very short walk from magnificent Anse Volbert (Côte d'Or) beach, this small private museum has a guesthouse with 4 double rooms and a family room attached. On the same premises, there is also a bungalow with 2 units.The museum showcases the traditions of the Seychelles as well as its culture in general. It also features a fascinating garden of endemic and medicinal plants. Very often the rare and endemic black parrots can be seen in the garden, eating fruits from the Bilembi trees. You'll be encouraged to participate in coconut dehusking, grilling breadfruit and other traditional activities which give a taste of the traditions of yesteryear. You'll be treated to a free guided museum tour if you stay at Omusee Guesthouse. The simple, but clean rooms and bungalow are equipped with exquisite furniture made from local wood, have a private bathroom attached, a small minibar fridge, hair dryer. The terrace is a good place to laze and eat your meals on. Aircon is included in the price and you'll be served free herbal (citronella) tea anytime. Facilities at Omusee guesthouse include internet access, telephone, laundry, car and bicycle hire and trips to surrounding islands. This guesthouse is the best value for money on his coast and the transfer from the ferry jetty on Praslin is free. The guest are raving about the food served here and about the friendlyness and hospitality of the owners. We personally agree 100 % and can only encourage you to stay at this guesthouse - you won't regret it! The restaurant is becoming popular fast with people staying at other hotels, but seats are limited and guests who actually stay here enjoy priority over outsiders.
